CICS — Certified Internal Control Specialist

A personal certification demonstrating understanding of the Common Body of Knowledge. Opens doors in risk and compliance roles.

Eligibility: 3 years internal-control experience + bachelor's degree, OR 5 years experience.

Senior credential

CICP — Certified Internal Control Professional

A senior-level professional certification requiring extensive skills and knowledge substantiation. The seniority signal for internal-controls leadership.

Eligibility: CICS + 8 years, or 12 years design experience, plus testimonial letter.

3 steps

The certification process.

Same path for both CICS and CICP. Twelve months from start to certified.

Step 1

Pay online

Complete payment of the appropriate certification fee online to begin.

Step 2

Download application

Download the Excel application form. Complete required fields, sign the Code of Conduct Affirmation, and email it back.

Step 3

Take the exam

Receive exam credentials via email. Twelve months to complete. Pass and receive your certificate and digital badge.
